Based in Westminster, Colorado, this team is looking to add a highly motivated and passionate Spacecraft Technical Program Manager to manage, coordinate and oversee operational aspects of projects and programs for our customers and revenue generating activities. Responsibilities: 

  • Support the transition of assigned programs from development into operations by defining, securing, organizing, and directing staff, resources, standards, processes, procedures, and tools essential for a successful evolution to operations. 
  • In collaboration with program lead engineer and technical subject matter experts, help to ensure a viable and executable technical approach to achieving program success.
  • Responsible for program leadership, direction, and guidance that ensures successful program execution in accordance with the budget, schedule, contract, Statement of Work (SOW), and Technical Specifications.
  • May be assigned responsibilities as a Program Manager or a Deputy Program Manager, as required.
  • Program Lead Deputy with an emphasis on subcontract management focused on interface with subcontracts with key partners.
  • Develop and monitor fidelity of the program baseline including definition of tasks, program budgets, and program schedules.
  • Provide leadership to develop a readiness plan that meets customer requirements and expectations to ensure staff is ready and certified to execute operations.
  • Act as the main interface with the Customer for all program operations readiness related subjects.
  • Provide sound leadership and team building to motivate, influence, and effectively apply the program staff.
  • Develop and practice good internal/external communication systems.
  • Provide leadership for interacting with customers within bounds of the contract.
  • Ensure that program requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed down to the internal team and subcontractors.
  • Resolve conflicts, demands, and priorities on assigned programs.
  • Work unplanned program issues to a best solution, including development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources, as required.
  • Communicate program status to upper management via Program Management Reviews and other formal and informal methods.
  • Recognize, develop, and work to assist the Chief Revenue Officer in winning potential follow-on work, increased scope, and additional programs within the appropriate program Customer contacts.
  • Assist in preparation of responses to customer opportunities, including white papers, proposals, rough order of magnitude estimates and responses to customer requests for information.
  • Coordinate inputs from support organizations including engineering, contracts, finance, security, and others as needed.
  • Facilitate system level technical integration, roadmapping strategy, and innovations within assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule; the nature of the position requires the program manager to engage the Advanced Space team routinely at the on-site location in Westminster.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within assigned programs, across core staff within Advanced Space, and with external partners. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. in engineering, science, or a related technical field plus 10 years or more related experience.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance required.
  • Solid background in aerospace space systems with emphasis on ground and space segments
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in creating Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for all program phases of the business cycle from proposals to program executions using tools like MS Project and Wrike
  • Demonstrated experience managing program / project budgets or cost accounts in excess of $10M.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large sub-contracts in excess of $10M. 
  • Experience in Earned Value Management preferred.
  • Baseline understanding of DoD Contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred.
  • PMI Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules, and technically challenging projects.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice, as well as program management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of multiple diverse inputs from stakeholders across program requirements.
  • Ability to self-start and understand the big picture as well as technical, budget and schedule issues at the detail level.
  • Mindset of leading a program to achieve operational mission objectives within the bounds of the contract.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Change Control process to control, monitor and resolve internal and external changes related to Program plan.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Strong a space systems background and experience with U.S. DoD government acquisition programs, EVMS, risk management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) requirements, and MS Project is highly desired.
  • Ability and desire to translate complex legal/contracting concepts to individuals at all levels.
  • System Engineer support for hardware heavy programs like Oracle and future
  • Subcontracts lead for Bids & Proposals and work on Internal Research and Development Projects. Desire for experience with hardware suppliers. 
  • Manage and create the infrastructure to interface with subcontractors from proposal to program execution.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 3-5 days/week during core business hours.

  • Base Salary Range – $70,000 - $170,000+ based on role, employee experience
